Frequently Asked Questions

Everything You Asked Us

If your question is not answered here, write to info@sahashmicrocredit.in or send us a message.

Who can apply for a loan?

Any resident Indian aged between 21 and 58 years with a regular income-generating activity in our operational area in and around Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh. For group loans you must be part of a Joint Liability Group of 5 to 10 members who know each other well.

Do I need to give any security or collateral?

No. Our micro credit loans are collateral-free. For group loans the mutual guarantee of your group members serves in place of security. We never ask you to pledge land, gold or property for a micro loan.

How long does approval take?

Once your KYC documents are complete and field verification is done, we aim to communicate a decision within 48 working hours. Disbursement usually follows within 2 to 3 working days of sanction.

How is interest calculated?

Interest is charged on a reducing balance basis, which means you pay interest only on the principal still outstanding. The exact rate applicable to you is stated in your sanction letter and loan card before any amount is disbursed.

What charges apply apart from interest?

A one-time processing fee with applicable GST, plus the actual premium if you choose credit-linked insurance. Every charge is disclosed in writing in your sanction letter. There is no hidden fee, and we never ask for cash payments to an individual staff member.

How do I repay my loan?

Through weekly, fortnightly or monthly instalments collected at your group meeting, by UPI, or by NACH auto-debit from your bank account. Every payment is entered in your loan card and acknowledged with a receipt.

Can I repay early?

Yes. You may prepay or foreclose your loan at any time. Foreclosure charges, if any, are stated upfront in your sanction letter so there is no surprise at the end.

What happens if I miss an instalment?

Speak to your field officer or write to us immediately and we will try to work out a practical solution. Recovery is always conducted at your usual place of business or residence, during decent hours, and with courtesy. Coercion of any kind is strictly prohibited under our Fair Practices Code.

Is the Foundation a bank or an NBFC?

No. Sahash Micro Credit Foundation is a company registered with the Ministry of Corporate Affairs under CIN U65990UP2016NPL085469. It is not a bank and does not hold a banking licence. Incorporation evidences registration of the company only; it is not a licence or permission to carry on any regulated activity.

Does the company accept deposits from the public?

No. The company does not accept or solicit deposits from the public in any form. Please treat any such offer made in our name as fraudulent and report it to us at once.

Where do I raise a complaint?

Write to info@sahashmicrocredit.in. Every grievance is acknowledged and we endeavour to resolve it within 30 days. The full process is set out on our Fair Practices Code page.

A word on protecting yourself. We never ask for an advance fee, a cash payment to any individual staff member, your OTP, your bank PIN or your card details — by phone, SMS, WhatsApp or in person.
